On Sunday evening, June 26th, all Iowans are invited to a party that Republican Michele Bachmann is hosting in Waterloo, the night before she makes her formal presidential campaign announcement speech.
"We are calling it a welcome home event," she told The Des Moines Register in a telephone interview Wednesday. "It's open to the public… We're urging anyone to come."
The 5:30 p.m. event will be at the National Cattle Congress' Electric Park Ballroom. It will be a casual event, not a political rally, her campaign aides say, with some music and food.
Then on Monday morning, June 27th, she will make her official announcement for her run for the White House at 9:00 AM, at the Snowden House, in the Grout Museum District.
